Hi ya Lucie!
Well, happy Thursday to ya!
My iPad seems to be a bit sluggish today so if you find this email
drop kicked into next week, don’t take it personally. Don’t ya lovit
that we don’t have to make any sense?
Anywho, yesterday held many treasures. Our Wednesday meeting wasn’t at the library. Evidently they needed our room so we held our meeting in the back room of a restaurant in the same plaza. The workers in the next room were shoveling ice and then pouring it into the salad bar in the next room; holy moly the noise!! Wuz quite the gift for each of us present :o) I just smiled to myself and knew that if this were pre-program, I’d at least have to go kill the guy :o) As it was, one of our members went and shut the door between the two rooms. Didn’t help much. But it made for some funny shares.
Ya know, I’ve been in some sort of writing funk for quite a while now and feeling really bad about it that I haven’t been writing to you. I’ve sat down a number of times to sternly insist that I write SOMETHING but no go. Actually, I picked this email out of the draft bin, it’s from last Wednesday. But I see I’m writing today so that’s a good sign.
Anywho, I smiled to myself last night when I got the email from your daughter saying that you’re having trouble with the wifi at your current place, so maybe you wouldn’t have gotten the emails even if I had sent them? Hopefully you’ll get this one.
I think one of my issues was missin you. I was remembering that we would write pretty steady while you were here but that once you headed back to your other life, we’d chat now and again. Kinda funnie, huh? You’d think it would be the other way around…
I went to lunch at Mayberrys with Alice yesterday; she’s heading north early next week. I had a lovely Mediterranean salad and of course my coffee con leche. And believe you me, it was really hard for me not to order a second one to go. But I endeavored to persevere and got outta there without another one. Alice ordered some sort of wrap that was so big, she brought the other ½ home to her hubbie for lunch. And actually, I ate about ½ my salad and finished it up at dinner last night. Whew! They have all new chairs on the porch; they’ve taken the old easy chairs out [boo hiss] and have only high top stools. It looks lovely but I’m an old easy chair kinda guy, ya know :o)
It’s getting pretty quiet in River City and I find that totally lovely. Kinda like you can breathe or let your hair down cuz somebody’s not gunna come in with an attitude the size of New Jersey. Ya know? Anyways, as I grow in my recovery, that happens less and less and I’m truly loving that too!!
Well Sweetie Pie, I’ll close for now. I love you dearly. I hope you find a better place for you soon. Hugs to you and the gang. Lis
